Apple Pie with Panko bread crumbs

I was out of all purpose flour in my kitchen. So I use panko bread crumbs. This apple pie was delicious. Honey and I finish it all.

Ingredients:
2 ready to use pie crust
5 red apple
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup panko bread crumbs
1 tablespoon water
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 cup milk or heavy cream
2 tablespoon unsalted butter

Method:
In a pot heat sugar and 1 tablespoon water.
Let sugar bubbly and turning brown.
Add vanilla and milk.
Cook until thicken. Turn off stove.
Peel apples. cut half and remove core. Slice it thinly.
Add panko bread and cinnamon to the apple.
Line up apple into the deep pie dish.
Pour the syrup evenly.
Scatter some butter.
Cover pie with the 2nd pie dough.
Slit the top to let steam out.
Cover with foil.
Bake in the oven at 350 degree F for 25 minutes.
Uncover, brush the top with egg wash.
Bake it again for another 25 minutes uncovered.
