Pickled Beets
Delicious pickled beets.
Ingredients:
5 medium size beets
2 cup white vinegar
3 tablespoon sugar
A pinch salt
Method:
Roast or bake beets in the oven at 450 degree F for about 40 minutes.
The skin of the beets will come off easily.
Let the beets cool down.
Slice the beets at about ¼ inch thick.
In a separate bowl, mix sugar, salt and vinegar until sugar dissolve.
Using a jar or plastic container, put the beets in.
Lastly, pour the vinegar onto the beets.
Keep in the fridge overnight before serving.
Enjoy!

Could we use it in the sandwich like “pickled gherkins?”

Cilantro, yes, this is similar to pickled gherkins and you can add it in your sandwich or in your salad. Homemade pickle taste better.

ReplyDeleteYes, the color is very deep red and the taste is superb. Next time, I am going to add hard boiled egg into the pickled beets and make pickled eggs.
