Homegrown Salad

While thinning the romaine and spinach row today, I picked the biggest plants and will toss this in my salad.
Romaine and spinach are my first harvest from the garden this year. In the picture above, spinach is on the right and the young romaine is on the left. I soak them in cold water for a few hours. This process not only will clean the soil attached in between the leaves but also will bring their life back from the shock.
The weather is getting warmer. The temperature reach up to 90 degree F. One of the spinach started to produce flowers. I quickly pull the plant out or else it will bolt.

  1. Wow, Zue dah harvest your veggies. Mine herbs still kecik kecik lagi. It is good your harvest your spinach now before the insect get to it last the previous season :)

  2. Gert, you are right. The ants love spinach. I fell in love growing spinach since last year and I am glad I have them. I never see spinach grow well in my garden before because I don't water them enough. Hehehe.

  4. coodeang, I rented the space from the community center. You could plant vegetables in container if space is limited.
