Ramadan 4 - Bubur Lambok

Three days not eating rice is making my body weaker. Today, I decided to cook bubur lambok (Spicy rice porridge). Bubur lambok has many versions. The basic ingredients are rice and beef. Visit my previous post on bubur lambok at this site
Ingredients:
1 cup rice
5 cups water
¼ lb beef
1 potato
1 cup peanuts
½ cup chopped parsley
2 ripe tomatoes
5 cloves
1 star anise
1 stick cinnamon
2 cardamon
1 inch ginger
2 small shallots
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
1 tablespoon Mrs. Dash herbs
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon salt
½ cup shredded carrot

Method
In a big pot, heat olive oil.
Grind cloves, star anise, stick cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, shallots, chopped garlic, and Mrs. Dash herbs and fry the spices until fragrant.
Add beef. Cook for another 5 minutes.
Add water.
Add peanuts.
Add small diced potato.
Add rice.
Add salt.
Add carrot and parsley
Simmer on low until rice is cooked.
Serve warm.
