Bread in Pancake Syrup

This is a simple recipe I try for breakfast. It is delicious but loaded with carbs.
Ingredients:
2 to 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, divided
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 envelope Fleischmann's Active Dry Yeast
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons butter

Method:
Mix 3/4 cup flour, sugar, salt, and undissolved yeast.
Heat milk, water and butter to 120° - 130°F. Gradually add to dry ingredients and beat 2 minutes at medium speed of electric mixer. Add 1/4 cup flour. Beat at high speed of electric mixer 2 minutes.

Stir in enough additional flour to make a soft dough. On floured surface knead 2 to 3 minutes.

Divide dough into 8 equal pieces. Shape into balls. Let rise 30 minutes. Uncover rolls.

In a round pan, grease with butter. Add some dollups of butter. Pour 1/2 cup pancake syrup.

Layer the bread ball in the pan. Brush the bread with some melted butter.
Preheat oven to 375°F. Bake 20-25 minutes, or until done. Remove from
pan. Turn it upside down.
Serve warm.

  2. Dhill, this breakfast meal can be changed into a healthy version by using whole wheat for the bread and use light pancake syrup. :-) Kaka Zu pun takut nak habiskan this sweet thing. My hubby tak makan bread macam ni. Tapi badan besar jugak. Hehehe.
