Baked Karipap

Ingredients for the dough:
3 cups flour
2 sticks unsalted butter(4 oz/114 gm each)
2 eggs
1 cup water
In a bowl, make adry crumbs from flour and butter. Then use egg to start form the dough. Add water to finish forming the dough.

Chicken filling:
3 potato (skinned and dice tiny)
1 onion (diced)
1 tablespoon curry powder
1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes
3 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
salt and sugar to taste
1 chicken breast or 2 cups ground chicken

This is how to assemble the karipap using karipap mould:

Brush the karipap with egg. Then bake it in the oven 400 degree F for 30 minutes.

  1. How much chicken would you use then? And how many curry puffs would this recipe make?

  2. Phobelina, I used 1 chicken breast and I should write it down. With the size of karipap mould I used in here, you will get about 30-35pieces.

  3. I tried to make the same as your recipe's ingredient to make the pastry. Are you sure that is the right measurement for the dough? When I add 1 cup (actually half cup) of water to the mixture, it turns out very sticky. Therefore I added 1 more cup of flour to the dough mixture. I am still waiting for the dough to rest for 30 min. I am afraid to continue for it.
