Dalca Daging - Beef Dalca


I love yellow split pea. I thought at first to use it in my rempeyek or tumpi but then I was not feeling well to be standing by the stove frying the tumpi. I have soaked the yellow split peas for more than 7 hours. The recipe for dalca is pretty simple.

Ingredients:
1/2 lb chuck roast beef cut into bite size.
2 cups of yellow split peas
4 poblano sweet peppers
1 large yellow onion
1 inch fresh ginger
2 tablespoons of ground curry powder
1 tablespoon of chili powder
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
10 pieces curry leaf
2 pieces kafir lime leaf
1 cup of coconut milk
2 cups of water
2 tablespoons olive oil

Method:
Soak split peas for more than 3 hours.
Boil split peas for 30 minutes. Toss and set aside.
In a bog pot, heat olive oil on medium low.
Fry chopped onion and ginger.
Add curry leaf and kafir lime leaf.
Stir for a minute.
Then add curry powder and chili powder.
Add beef.
Stir and incorporate.
Add coconut milk and water.
Add peppers and yellow split peas.
Add salt and sugar.
Let it cook for 20 minutes. Cover.

Serve hot with paratha or white rice.
